Real Madrid are still reported to have Michael Olise as their main attacking transfer focus, despite Bayern Munich’s firm stance that the France winger is not for sale.
The latest update comes with Olise away on World Cup duty with France, where his form and profile have only sharpened the attention around his future. Bayern have not received a formal Madrid offer, but the suggestion is that the Spanish club’s internal focus has remained on Olise rather than Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez.
Bayern stance leaves Madrid with a major obstacle
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, cited in a fresh Bavarian Football Works update, reports that Olise has been the name discussed in Madrid meetings, while Bayern are prepared to offer the 24-year-old improved terms to keep him in Munich.
That makes this a difficult story for Madrid rather than a straightforward pursuit. Bayern’s position is that Olise is central to their plans, and the player is said to be fully focused on France’s World Cup campaign before any next step becomes clearer.
For Real Madrid, the significance is obvious. If Florentino Perez wants a new elite wide forward for Jose Mourinho’s attack, Olise fits the profile: left-footed, creative, proven at the highest level and still young enough to become a long-term Bernabeu figure.
But unless Bayern’s stance changes, Madrid may have to decide whether to test the market with an extraordinary bid or keep the interest warm until after the World Cup.
