Michael Olise Remains Real Madrid’s Transfer Focus After Julian Alvarez Bluff Claim

Real Madrid’s transfer focus remains fixed on Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, despite the recent noise around Julian Alvarez. The latest claim, published on Saturday, says Florentino Perez’s supposed Alvarez move was viewed as a bluff rather than the true centre of Madrid’s summer thinking.

Olise is currently with France at the 2026 World Cup, so any serious movement is unlikely to come immediately. But the line from Bayern is already clear: the Bundesliga champions do not want to sell and are prepared to offer the 24-year-old improved terms to keep him in Munich.

Bayern stance leaves Madrid waiting on Olise

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, via Bavarian Football Works’ latest Olise update, reported that Olise has been the “dream” name discussed inside Real Madrid meetings, while Bayern’s position remains unchanged.

That makes this a watching brief rather than a completed pursuit. Madrid’s interest is significant because Olise would fit the club’s post-Mourinho attacking reset, but Bayern’s refusal to engage at around €150m shows how difficult the deal would be.

The timing also matters. With Olise focused on France duty, Madrid may have to wait until after the World Cup before learning whether Bayern’s contract push has closed the door or merely raised the price.
