Thiago Pitarch is the latest name on Fulham’s Real Madrid shopping list. According to Madrid Universal, citing Cadena SER, the Premier League club have shown concrete interest in the teenage La Fábrica midfielder, with former Real Madrid coach Álvaro Arbeloa — now at Craven Cottage — keen on a reunion.
It would continue a striking summer trend. Fulham have already signed Gonzalo García and César Palacios from Real Madrid this window, for reported fees of around €40m and €10m respectively, and Pitarch is said to be next on Arbeloa’s list. As The Real Champs noted, the midfielder was thrown into the senior side last season during Madrid’s injury crisis and impressed, even featuring in the Champions League.
Why Fulham want Thiago Pitarch
A product of the academy, Pitarch made his senior debut against a Benfica side then managed by José Mourinho — now his head coach at Real Madrid — before helping Spain win the UEFA European Under-19 Championship as one of its standout providers. Los Blancos, who have invested heavily this summer including the club-record signing of Yan Diomande, are reportedly not ruling out a sale as they look to balance the books.
For now, no deal is done, and Real Madrid face a familiar dilemma: cash in on one of their brightest prospects or keep backing his rise. Expect Pitarch’s future to rumble on across the rest of the summer transfer window.
