Teresa Herrera: Real Madrid Face Deportivo in Riazor Friendly
Real Madrid continue their pre-season on Wednesday when they travel to face Deportivo A Coruña in the Trofeo Teresa Herrera, with kick-off set for 21:00 CEST (20:00 BST) at the Estadio Abanca-Riazor.
The historic Galician trophy hands José Mourinho another look at his evolving side after their 2-1 win over Ferencváros in Budapest. With Kylian Mbappé still building fitness and Éder Militão among the absentees, the friendly is a chance for fringe men and new signings to stake a claim before the LaLiga campaign begins.
How to watch the Teresa Herrera
According to Bernabéu Digital, the match will be shown live in Spain on La 1 and Galician regional channel TVG on 12 August. Supporters in the United Kingdom can follow the 20:00 BST kick-off through the same live coverage.
For the global Madridista audience, the 21:00 Spanish start time translates to 15:00 in New York, 13:00 in Mexico City and 16:00 in Buenos Aires and São Paulo, making it an accessible evening kick-off for fans across the Americas.
What is at stake in the Teresa Herrera
Silverware in August rarely defines a season, but the Teresa Herrera gives Mourinho valuable minutes as he fine-tunes a rebuilt squad. Deportivo will relish testing themselves against the 15-time European champions in front of a passionate Riazor crowd, offering Los Blancos a sterner examination before the serious business arrives.
