At a glance

  • Real Madrid went to the Allianz Arena trailing 2-1 in the Champions League quarterfinals.
  • Guler put Los Blancos 1-0 ahead after a Manuel Neuer mistake, only for Alexsander Pavlovic to equalise a few minutes later.
  • Approaching the half hour mark, though Guler fired a fantastic free kick into Manuel Neuer’s top corner.

Real Madrid midfielder Arda Guler put his team 2-1 ahead on the night and 3-3 level on aggregate with Bayern Munich through a fantastic free kick in their Champions League quarterfinal second leg clash.

Scoring his first goal in the tournament, the young Turk capitalised on a Manuel Neuer mistake with just 35 seconds down on the clock.

Coming out of his box, the MVP of the first leg gifted Guler with a pass straight into his path.

The youngster responded in the best possible way, by smashing the ball into the Bayern net as punishment.

But any joy was short lived for Madrid. From a Joshua Kimmich corner, Alexsander Pavlovic headed home to put the Bavarians ahead 3-2.

Far from done, there, though Guler proved he is a big game player by smashing a free kick into Neuer’s top corner approaching the half hour mark.

This thrilling Real Madrid Vs. Bayern Munich tie had more goals though

The 21-year old couldn’t have picked a better moment to score his first goals in Europe’s tournament. On X, formerly known as Twitter, a Madridista called his brace a Puskas Award-worthy double.

With this one shaping up to be a modern day classic, however, Harry Kane struck on 38 minutes to secure the lead once more for the home team.

Madrid once again trailed 3-2 on aggregate, yet Kylian Mbappe popped up out of nowhere to slot home from close range and once more even things.

The score tied 4-4 on aggregate, Madridistas have every reason to believe in a remontada. Whoever wins this thriller will face holders Paris Saint-Germain in the last four.
