Real Madrid vs Ferencvaros: What to Watch in Budapest Friendly

Real Madrid take another step through pre-season on Saturday when they face Ferencvaros in Budapest, with Vinícius Júnior and Bernardo Silva in line for minutes and €140m signing Yan Diomande left at home. Kick-off is 19:00 CET (18:00 BST) at the Ferencváros Stadion, live on Real Madrid TV.

As Managing Madrid reported, José Mourinho has named a squad that includes Vinícius, Brahim Díaz and Bernardo Silva, all of whom rejoined training on Monday and are expected to play some minutes after their late starts to the summer.

What to Watch Against Ferencvaros

Diomande misses out: the €140m arrival, whose signing was only confirmed on Thursday, has not yet trained with the group and stays behind. New faces Trent Alexander-Arnold and Denzel Dumfries are in the party, alongside a clutch of academy players getting a look-in on the club’s fourth pre-season outing after games against Alcorcón, Leganés and Fiorentina. Mourinho will also be looking for sharper legs and cleaner rhythm from a group that has flickered in and out of gear this summer.

Above all, it is a first proper look at Vinícius under Mourinho following his new six-year contract — a useful dress rehearsal before Real Madrid’s LaLiga campaign gets under way.
