Diomande Registered With LaLiga as Real Madrid Fill All 25 Spots

Yan Diomande registered with LaLiga as a first-team player on Thursday, with Real Madrid completing the paperwork on their club-record signing and, in the process, filling the last of their 25 first-team squad places. The 19-year-old winger joined from RB Leipzig this summer in a deal worth €140 million including add-ons, Madrid Universal reports, making him the most expensive signing in the club’s history.

Los Blancos had the option of registering the Ivory Coast international with Castilla in the Primera Federación — at 19 he sits comfortably under the federation’s age limit of 23 — but chose not to use it, taking a different route from the one they followed with Franco Mastantuono a year ago. Diomande goes straight into José Mourinho’s senior group.

Diomande registered — and the squad is now full

The registration means every one of Real Madrid’s summer signings is now on LaLiga’s books: Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konaté, Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Carlos Espí and Diomande himself. Young midfielder Thiago Pitarch, meanwhile, has been registered with the reserve team.

The knock-on effect is significant. With all 25 places occupied, Real Madrid cannot add another player before the window shuts on 31 August unless a departure frees up a slot first — a picture that matches reporting from The Athletic, relayed by Madrid Universal, that the club consider the squad complete.

For the man at the centre of it all, the formality clears the final hurdle. Having already delivered his first words as a Real Madrid player, Diomande is now fully eligible for the LaLiga opener — and Madridistas can finally see what €140m buys.
