  • Onda Cero reported on a locker room fracas between Antonio Rudiger and Alvaro Carreras
  • Though he didn’t name the German, Carreras touched on the incident in a statement.
  • It’s the latest development in a rough week for Los Blancos ahead of El Clasico.

Real Madrid left back Alvaro Carreras has confirmed a reported bust-up took place with teammate Antonio Rudiger.

According to Onda Cero, the incident took place in the days between matches against Alaves and Real Betis.

Carreras has now addressed it and general criticism. “In recent days certain insinuations and comments have arisen about me that do not correspond to reality,” he began in a statement. “My commitment to this club and to the coaches I have had has been complete from day one and it will continue to be so.”

Carreras claimed that since returning to the club via Manchester United and Benfica, he has “always worked with the utmost professionalism, respect and dedication”.

“I have fought very hard to fulfill my dream of returning home. Regarding the incident with a colleague, it is a specific matter of no relevance that has already been settled. My relationship with the whole team is very good. Hala Madrid!”, Carreras concluded.

Alvaro Carreras and Rudiger bust up latest incident at Real Madrid

News of the fracas, where Rudidger reportedly slapped Carreras in the face, emerged on the same day Kylian Mbappe allegedly argued with a member of Alvaro Arbeloa’s staff in Valdebebas.

Rudiger has since apologised to the locker room. Furthermore he’s invited the squad and their families to lunch too. As for Carreras, he he’s fallen out of the first XI. When Ferland Mendy left the 2-0 Espanyol win early, Fran Garcia was brought on instead.

Neither Arbeloa nor the club are said to be happy with Carreras’ attitude. For the player, that’s a shame given he started 2025/2026 strongly following his high profile transfer from Benfica.

At a time when Real Madrid are counting down to the Clasico and trying to stop FC Barcelona from reclaiming the La Liga title, this one more unnecessary distraction for the club.
