Real Madrid have dismissed a run of bizarre social media claims from Brazil this week that allege Vinicius Junior vanished, was replaced by a lookalike, or was abducted by aliens. The Vinicius Jr lookalike theories have spread quickly across Brazilian accounts since the World Cup, though nothing about them carries any credibility.
Vinicius Jr Dismisses Bizarre Social Media Conspiracy Theories
The claims suggest Vinicius vanished under mysterious circumstances and was swapped for a lookalike so he could fulfil advertising contracts. Believers point to alleged differences in his thigh tattoo and facial features between his Brazil and Real Madrid appearances as proof.
None of this has any basis in fact. Vinicius has continued to train and play for both club and country without interruption, and there is no evidence to support any of the claims circulating online.
Social Media Claims and Viral Alien Video Detailed in Goal Report
According to X account @BlackBondPtv, the CIA, the Rothschild family and ruling elites killed Vinicius and replaced him after the World Cup. It is an extraordinary claim with no supporting evidence, yet it has found an audience online.
Other theories take an even stranger turn. According to Marca, some social media users have linked Vinicius’s appearance to a supposed creeping alien invasion during the World Cup, one that targeted him and Neymar for abduction.
A woman named Fo Bahiana released a viral video describing a dream in which aliens invaded a football stadium in Miami. She said:
I have to tell you that I dreamed again of aliens invading the football stadium in Miami, and I saw clearly how they abducted the players aboard the first ship that arrived. I was inside that ship, and when I boarded, the mother ship arrived and abducted thousands of people from the stadium. I saw screaming, crying and countless suffering.
The clip has been shared widely, feeding a story with no factual grounding whatsoever. You can read the full breakdown of how the rumours began in this Goal report on Vinicius rumours.
Jose Mourinho Squad Focus Remains Unshaken by Digital Nonsense
Real Madrid and those close to Vinicius are treating the entire episode as fake news and digital nonsense. There has been no official response beyond that, because none is really needed.
Life inside the squad continues as normal. Vinicius remains a central figure under Jose Mourinho, and our recent look at Esteban Suárez assessing Vinícius working under Jose Mourinho shows how settled that relationship looks from the outside.
He also featured prominently in our earlier report on his standing within the squad, another reminder that the noise online bears no relation to what is actually happening at Valdebebas.
Real Madrid Fixture Schedule Continues Amid Social Media Noise
Real Madrid’s fixture schedule carries on regardless of the chatter, with Vinicius expected to keep playing his part for club and country. It is worth remembering how quickly rumours can spiral, as with previous speculation around Vinicius Jr that also proved wide of the mark.
For now, the Vinicius Jr lookalike theories remain exactly what they look like: an online curiosity with nothing behind it, and nothing that should distract from the football itself.
